Dingy Skipper butterfies taken by Vaughan Cooper
The above picture shows two Dingy Skipper butterflies mating! Spotted on site on Saturday 31st May by eagle eyed Kath, these butterflies are becoming a rare species through loss of habitat. We have worked hard over the last few years to replenish the foodplant, Brids Foot Trefoil, as well as create the ideal habitat to encourage the butterflies. This photo is proof that our hard work is paying off!
Lots happening on site this month as the insects, butterflies, birds and plants start to flower and reproduce!

Swan and cygnet taken by Martin Sutbbs
Our resident swans have had cygnets, which brings the total number born on site to over 18 now.
We also spotted a possible Redshank chick which would be wonderful news!
