As you walk around the site you may well see a flock of Hebridean Sheep. These sheep are part of an ongoing experiment in the maintenance of the site.

The sheep graze the scrub and grass areas which encourage a proliferation of wild flowers and butterflies.

The sheep are used to control the growth of plants and scrub at various points on the site and are moved from one area to another accordingly.

Please do not disturb the sheep with your dogs.

We have had several needlessly killed by careless dog owners.
