Pleasley Pit Nature Study Group – Annual Photographic Competition

As a member of the Group you are invited to participate in our new photographic Competition. At present it is for members only, but may be opened up to other individuals in future years.

Please remember that this is for fun, to raise a bit of money, the profile of the Site, as well as encourage us to enjoy the site.

Even if you are a ‘happy snapper’ please have a go, you will not be prejudiced against others that have more up to date equipment or experience.

Please respect the simple rules that follow and use the submission form for any entries, along with payment.

Pictures will be exhibited and judged at the Open Day in September 2008.

There will be two judges as well as a public ballot vote on the weekend of the Open Day. Visiting public will be asked to choose their favourite picture overall, and post in a ballot box to be counted up later. This will ensure fairness in judging.

  1. A4 maximum size. Entries can be smaller and it will not affect the chance of winning.
  2. Entries should not be mounted or framed, as the winning pictures will be mounted at the end. You should expect that your entries will have Velcro pads stuck on the reverse for exhibiting.
  3. £1.00 per entry and maximum of 2 entries per category.
  4. All entries must be submitted by August 31st 2008.
  5. All entries to be submitted with an entry form.
  6. All entries may be used to help promote the site and could be displayed at events, publications or on the website. By entering your photograph you are agreeing to these terms.
  7. Photos should be taken ON SITE. This means within the bounds of the Pleasley Pit Site and does not include the Teversal Trail section. We trust members to be honest with these criteria.
  8. Entries must be taken THIS YEAR, i.e. 2008.
  9. Entries must be in the form of a print, not data disc, stick or CD.

All monies raised will go towards the small administration costs of running the competition, prizes for the winners and towards Pleasley Pit Nature Study Group funds.

Results will be announced, winners photos exhibited and prizes awarded on the first members evening after the Open Day in September.
